About BRC
The 7th JRM has noted that “…The State reports that 100% of BRCs/CRCs are operational and fully functional and this is certainly the impression gained by the Mission during the field visits…”
In Tamilnadu, there are 385 Community Development Blocks and 27 Urban Blocks.  385 Block Resource Centres function in 29 Districts.  In Chennai, 10 CRCs in the Corporation Zones play the roles of BRCs to cover 10 Urban Blocks. In the remaining 27 Urban Blocks, 27 urban BRCs are functioning.    
BRCs have been supplied with computers and they have also been connected with Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs).  These SITs have been helpful for the conduct of State level training programmes through EDUSAT.  Resource Books have been provided to all BRCs which remain permanent resource materials to be used by BRTEs and Teachers.

As per the Notification No.2/2013 published on 09.05.2013, the Written Competitive Examination for the Direct Recruitment to the post of Post Graduate Assistants and Physical Education Director Grade-I was held on 21.07.2013 and results was published on 09.01.2014 & 10.04.2014 and certificate verification was conducted for the vacancies in School Education Department. Based on certificate verification, Board already released the results for School Education Department.

Board also conducted certificate verification on 31.10.2014 and 18.12.2014 for the vacancies arrived due to non- availability of eligible candidates in the previous certificate verification for School Education Department and for the vacancies in the Adi – Dravidar Welfare Department, BC / MBC Welfare Department, Chennai and Coimbatore Corporation schools as per certificate verification list released on 20.10.2014. After the certificate verification, the tentative “Provisional Merit Sponsor List” is hereby released for the same.

The list is prepared based on the written marks and weightage marks for employment seniority and teaching experience following merit cum communal rotation as per the rules in vogue.

The Selection and final appointment list for the selected candidates after satisfying all conditions will be issued based on rules by the concerned user department separately in due course.

In G.O. first read above orders were issued to include the post of LaboratoryAttender in Higher Secondary Schools as a separate category class LXXII of Tamil Nadu
change the nomenclature of Laboratory Attender in Higher Secondary Schools into
Laboratory Assistants in Higher Secondary Schools. In G.O.(Ms).No.198, School
Education Department, Dated 07.12.2011 orders were issued to sanction 710 Lab
Assistant Post for the 710 upgraded High Schools during year 2011-2012 under RMSA
Scheme. To fillup the above 710 post of Lab Assistant in High Schools, the Directorate of
School Education has requested to make suitable amendments in the special rules for the
Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service for the post of Lab Assistant.
The following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
